Pat’s E-Course, Writing for Trade Magazines

In the summer of 2007, I got an email from Linda Formichelli, co-author of the respected freelance writing guide, The Renegade Writer: A Totally Unconventional Guide to Freelance Writing Success. She and her co-author, Diana Burrell, also teach online courses about writing for magazines.

They wanted to offer additional courses and said they thought I’d be the perfect person to teach a class on writing for trade magazines. Given that I had made a career of doing just that, and I had a background as an adjunct instructor at the college level, I was happy to accept. I wrote the curriculum for an eight-session course, and in January 2008, taught the first session of my e-course for Renegade Writer.

About a year ago, Linda and Diana decided to focus their curriculum on their own classes, so I now offer the course on my own in a one-on-one, eight-week mentoring format.
